Rare Find Himalayan Quartz with Black Tourmaline

Locality: Dhara, Bhuntar, Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh, India

This is piece is a unique combination of black tourmaline, black rutile, and quartz from the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh. This Quartz point has broken off the origin cluster and the rear of the point is completely covered in a very rare inclusion of Black Tourmaline, pockets of which have only been found a handful of times in the past 20 years from this local.

It is an extremely rare inclusion for Himalayan Quartz, and this specimen has a large amount of the inclusion which can be seen through the high clarity quartz. The black tourmaline has formed in clusters of pin-like needles that have a glossy shine and intense sparkle. The Quartz also has striations running vertically on the face of the largest point, as well as rutile inclusion of the black tourmaline within the Quartz.

A true collectors piece at an extremely low price point for this material.
